Heavy Lifting
This special event combines an artists’ book, film, poetry, and an opportunity for dialogue and healing in our era of crisis and renewal. The limited-edition artists’ book, Heavy Lifting, showcases works by artist/printer Felicia Rice of Moving Parts Press with poetry by Theresa Whitehill. Printed in an edition of only sixty copies at Felicia’s letterpress studio in Mendocino, the sculptural book extends when open to 14 feet (see photo above). It will provide a springboard for an afternoon that features a short experimental art film, a talk by Felicia, poetry reading by Theresa, and conversation exploring personal and collective crises of the past several years.
(This event is dedicated to Paulo Ferreira [1953–2023] and is a benefit for Providence Hospice in Napa.)
Sunday, April 21, 4 p.m.
Ticket price: $25.00

Terry Family Band
Join us for the White Barn debut of the Terry Family Band, comprised of Jim Terry and his sons Clark and Graham (son James lives in Atlanta and joins when the stars align). Their award-winning music, with its roots in American folk, draws on the complex experiences of life, the country, and the world. Clark and Graham are multi-instrumentalists (violin, mandolin, bouzouki, guitar, vocals) and Jim writes the songs and handles lead vocals while keeping the rhythm pulsing with his acoustic guitar. The band recently completed a North American radio tour of its new album, Hometown Tragedies, praised as fresh and unique, reflective of the family who originated it.

Mads Tolling Quartet
(outdoor show)
Grammy-winning violinist Mads Tolling (above, left) brings his fellow musicians, including pianist John R. Burr (above, right), to the White Barn for another summer concert on our outdoor stage. In “Playing the 60s: Music of the Mad Men Era,” Tolling will give nostalgic tunes from TV, radio, and film a contemporary spin. He’ll also demonstrate his versatility as he joins Burr in selections from their recently released album “Ramblin',“ highlighting jazz standards and Americana classics. Join Tolling and Burr along with Gary Brown on bass and Eric Garland on drums as the quartet brings its unique sound to our beautiful vineyard setting. Patrons are welcome to bring a picnic or snacks to enjoy during this special twilight show.
