Le Jazz Hot | Music of Parisian Cafes in the 30's
The acclaimed Hot Club of San Francisco will create a charming concert invoking an unforgettable Parisian experience.Love songs and driving gypsy jazz are a combination made famous during the 20’s and 30’s in Paris by the legendary Hot Club de France, Django Reinhardt, and Stephane Grappelli. Following the First World War, the city became a gathering place for artists from around the world and The Hot Club’s unique sound of gypsy jazz reflects this inter-wartime collection of cultures. Keep time with the strum of the rhythm guitars and let the magical guitar and fiddle solos take you on a ride down the Seine and through the heart of the city. .

Dizzy FIngers
Six pianists lend their talents to an evening of music and fund raising. Antonio Iturrioz teaches and performs in the Bay Area and in Europe where he presents the art of left hand piano music. His documentary film on "The Art of Left Hand- A Brief History of Left Hand Piano Music" has been aired on PBS.Curt Pajer, on the staff of San Francisco Opera and director of the opera program at San Francisco Conservatory of Music, will accompany his wife Vannessa Conlin, who earned a MM in voice from Manhattan Shcool of Mucis. He will also present selection from Schubert and Chopin.
Acclaimed Jazz pianist, Michael Greensill will also join this amazing cast of musicians and surprise us with a few pieces.
Piano duets, so popular in the 1800's, will be performed by Elaine Elder, Linda Scheibal, and Nancy Garden. The ever popular "Billy the Kid" arrangement for two pianos and Sousa's "Stars & Stripes Forever" arrangement for two pianos eight hands rounds out this lively evening of piano music.
This evening is a benefit for the new Yamaha piano recently acquired by the White Barn. Come support our music making efforts and enjoy.

Joe Galambos & Friends
Delight in a brilliant classical guitar performance by Joe Galambos, bay area guitarist recognized for his technical ability and colorful lyricism. Joe, a recipient of a Masters in Guitar Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music will be playing in the tradition of Andre Segovia; covering composers that span the gamut from traditional spanish guitar to latin jazz, contemporary classical and works from the Asian continent.Rachelle Berthelsen Davis, accomplished violinist and Dean of Paulin Hall Music Department at Pacific Union College will accompany Joe in a tango by Astor Piazzolla.
Joe creates a relaxed and intimate atmosphere with his audience, consistently delivering a crowd pleasing performance.

Release Party for Buckeye Knoll's new album “Lovecreek”
Join us to celebrate the long anticipated sophomore album from the woodsy indie folk rock band Buckeye Knoll titled "Lovecreek." The SF Chronicle has called Buckeye Knoll, "The Real Deal" and "Unforgettable" Opening the show will be Santa Cruz's finest rock and soul band Wooster.Lovecreek was recorded in a cabin on a 300 acre ranch in the western foothills of the Sierra mountains during the Fall of 2011. The album was produced by Cian Riordan, mastered by Eric Valentine and partially crowd funded via a Kickstarter campaign in the Winter of 2012.

Party & Picnic with Paradigm Brass Quartet
Come picnic on the lawn with us and enjoy the rocking sounds of Paradigm Brass! Paradigm Brass began playing classical music on the streets and in sub-way stations in San Francisco in 2002. It didn't take long before the band began incorporating elements of New Orleans second-line, modern jazz, funk, blues, and rock & roll, hip-hop and salsa, into its own personal style that is decidedly contemporary and urban. An artists perspective on creativity and healing.
Join us for an afternoon Tea – In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, writer and artist Becca Smith will exhibit new, multi-media art work and read excerpts from her book The Art of Surrender, a first person, literary art book documenting the period of her cancer treatments. Having been given a terminal prognosis in 1994, Smith will discuss how her creative life influences her ability to both persevere and thrive. Whether you are a cancer survivor in the long or short term or a friend to someone going through the experience, we invite you to celebrate yourself and gain perspective on the lighter, more fulfilling aspects of the cancer journey.
