Continuing our long tradition of welcoming families for a bring-your-own picnic on the lawn, the White Barn is hosting St. Gabriel’s Celestial Brass Band for a New Orleans-themed party to celebrate the harvest season.
This family-friendly event will feature the traditional street music of the French Quarter, including Dixieland jazz, Zydeco, blues, and Cajun performed by the only authentic jazz marching band west of the Crescent City. The Bay Area-based St. Gabriel’s Celestial Brass Brand will play happy dancing tunes and then lead guests in a march around the White Barn grounds.
As part of the annual festivities, the White Barn will provide materials for young and old to make festive masks to wear as they dance to the music and follow the band as it parades around the Barn. Free popcorn and lemonade will be provided, and guests will be encouraged to bring their picnic dinners to spread on the lawn while the band plays. Hayrides will round out the agenda for family fun.
Kids 12 and under are free; tickets for teens, parents, and adult guardians are $30 per person. Space on the lawn is unreserved, first-come/first-served. A limited number of folding chairs will be set up, but patrons should bring blankets and lawn chairs along with their picnic suppers. The music begins at 4:30 p.m.; the grounds will open at 4:15 p.m.

The White Barn celebrates the Halloween season with an evening of hair-raising, spine-tingling tales from the twisted mind of Edgar Allan Poe. We'll stir things up with a potpourri of theatrical readings of his works, short films, and shadow play based on his ghastly, ghostly stories. *Note: This show is not recommended for children under 12
