Kith & Kin

Kith & Kin, Napa Valley's own Celtic band founded in the 1990s by the late, great John Kelley, returns for two rousing performances. Join musicians Kathi Brotemarkle, Ron Brunswick, Linda Howard, Ann Gilleran, and Michael Waterson for a lyrical, lilting, sole-pounding evening of jigs, reels, ballads, and blarney, all accompanied by guitar, fiddle, accordion, mandolin, banjo, Irish bouzouki, and bodhrán. This multi-talented group will awaken in you the spirit of St. Paddy's Day with gorgeous vocals and traditional Irish instrumental tunes.

This program features special guest singer, "La Yuli" with dancers Joelle Gonçalves, Damien Alvarez and guitarist, Mark Taylor.

Nobody from Nashville: Bluegrass and Americana from the Bay Area

This energetic collective from around the bay covers a panoply of acoustic styles, from bluegrass greats Flat and Scruggs to country giants Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard, with a little folksy rock thrown in. Joan Ritter-Wilson steps up on lead vocals, fiddle, and accordion, accompanied by singer/songwriter/Dobro player Steve Owen, guitarist Ian Epstein, and Kyle Finley on bass. Together, they'll womp up a memorable evening of the best Americana music this side of Appalachia. Refreshments will be served at intermission, and patrons are welcome to bring a picnic or snacks to enjoy during this special twilight show.

Led by crossover cellist Rebecca Roudman, Dirty Cello brings to the Barn a high energy, unique spin on blues, rock, and Americana. The ensemble has performed around the world, from Iceland to Israel, from Scottish castles to underground caves, presenting a show that's been described as "all over the map: funky, carnival, romantic, sexy, tangled, electric, fiercely rhythmic, and textured" by Oakland Magazine. This band will get your heart thumping and your toes tapping.

Under guitarist Paul Mehling, Le Jazz Hot Quartet breathes new life into standards by Django Reinhardt along with original compositions echoing the swing era. Also highlighting violinist Evan Price, rhythm guitarist Cristophe Carington, and string bassist Dexter Williams, this foursome will deliver the best renditions of gypsy jazz that will leave you dreaming of Paris in the 1930s and '40s.

Come hear works by nine 20th-century poets in Spanish and Portuguese, read in the original language and in English translation by Sara de Luis, Norma Ferriz, Paulo Ferreira, Theresa Whitehill, and Michael Caldarola. These stirring, moving poems will be accompanied by pieces from composers Manuel Maria Ponce, Francisco Tárrega, Jaoquin Turina, and Sergio Assad, played by guitarist Marc Teicholz. This promises to be an afternoon of inspiring words and music, perfect for a late autumn day.

Classical Guitarist Joe Galambos

Delight in a brilliant classical guitar performance by Joe Galambos, the Bay Area guitarist recognized for his technical ability and colorful lyricism. Playing in the tradition of Andrés Segovia, Joe will cover composers spanning traditional Spanish guitar to Latin jazz, as well as contemporary classical pieces and works from the Asian continent.
